When the water of the Great Salt Lake is so smooth, it reflects the pale blue sky and the hills around look like mountains of copper.

This yarn base is 100% made in America and it's thicker, and more springy than my other sock weight bases. They are also 115 gm as opposed to 100 gm. If you like a little thicker, sturdy, crisp feel, this base is for you! Great for many project; socks, sweater, blankets, etc. I love the smooth look of 4-ply sock weight, which also adds some extra strength.

Colors: rusty orange, white, sage blue, light speckles of gold and sage
Fiber(s): 80% superwash merino, 20% nylon
Weight: sock/fingering
Length/yardage: +/- 434, 115 gm
Care instructions: Superwash wool will not felt in a washing machine (do NOT dry in a dryer). However, I still suggest hand washing, lay flat and shape to dry.

NOTE: Most tap water has a higher than desirable (for hand-dyed wool) Ph level. You can neutralize this by simply adding 2 tablespoons, per gallon of water, of white vinegar to your wash water. That will neutralize the Ph levels and help maintain the vibrant colors.
